The Story
Years ago I decided to create a lamp out of an old suspension fork. I had several forks collecting dust that were past their prime after many torturous mountain bike races and with the help of my brother, we set out to make some cool functional art. The first designs were so well received by family and friends that everyone told me I should sell them. While I liked the idea of sharing my work, I never had the time to make it happen. After many years went by and making a few more lamps, life has finally aligned to allow me to share my love of bikes and functional art with the world.
So go ahead, check'em out and become one of the few to own these unique lamps!
The Designs
Each lamp is handcrafted to perfection in my garage using old bike parts (insert 'character') and a few parts from the local hardware store. After many hours of work the lamps come to life!
Each lamp is built using standard rated electrical and lamp accessories. They are efficient and safe for household use. In the larger lamps I use energy efficient bulbs and the smaller lamps use standard candelabra bulbs. No special assembly or tools are required to set them up once received. All lamps are carefully packaged before being shipped and each is insured for the full value at no additional cost to you.
Check out the designs page for more pics of various lamps both past and present.
The Designer
Like most kids, I grew up riding my BMX bike as if it was never going out of style, (it never did for this kid) I jumped off everything I could, skinning up knees left and right to my mother's chagrin. Thanks for all the band-aids Mom! I got my first mountain bike when I was 12 and discovered a whole new world of riding. Since I 'grew up' I have tried to race in every discipline I can. Cross country, downhill, dual slalom, mountain cross, road, crits, track (Little 500), BMX, etc. These days I am an airline pilot who enjoys riding for what it is! So remember to get out there and ride ... and maybe buy a lamp while you are here!
Cheers!
